Lets begin with this..
* Open a word file or say any file you want to open, for our consideration we open a word file (some large document).
* Now go to task manager and in that under process tab see the memory usage by word file.In this case you will find it under name "WINWORD.EXE".
* Check out the memory usage.
* Now go back to word file and minimize it .
* Again open task manager and see the memory usage by the process under the name "WINWORD.EXE".The memory usage will be drastically reduced.
Hence from this very simple example we can conclude that we should minimize eachapplication before moving to other, this will free up the ram and increase the speed of your PC....
